Overview of Programming Languages
Programming Language Called What?
Programming language is a standard communication technique to express instructions to the computer. Just like human language, every language has certain rules of grammar and writing.
Programming language facilitates a programmer to specify what will be done by computer then, how the data is stored and transmitted, and what will be done if the conditions are varied.
Programming languages can be classified into low-level, medium, and high level. The shift from low to high level indicates the closeness of the "human language". J.E.N.I. Introduction to Programming 1 5
Category of Programming Languages
1. High Level Programming Languages
Is a high-level language that has the characteristics of easy to understand because of its proximity to the language a day - day. A program statement is translated to one or more machines using the compiler.
An example is: JAVA, C + +,. NET
2. Low Level Programming Language
First-generation programming language. Language of this type is very difficult to understand because the instructions using assembly language. Also called the assembly language is a language by mapping one - by one of the computer instructions. Each assembly instruction is translated by using the assembler.
3. Intermediate Level Programming Language
Where the use of ordinary language instruction has been approached - the day, although still quite difficult to understand because it uses acronyms - abbreviations such as STO, which means save (STORE) and MOV, which means to move (MOVE). Belonging in this language is Fortran.
1.5 Chronology of Creation Program
A programmer does not do the manufacturing and the encoding program just like that, but planning and follow a structured methodology that separates the process of an application into several parts.
Here are the steps - the basic systematic step in solving programming problems
1. Defining the problem
2. Analyzes and makes the formulation of problem solving
3. Algorithm Design and Representation
4. Coding, Testing and documentation
To understand the basic steps in problem solving in a computer let us define a problem to be solved step by step as problem-solving methodology that will be discussed next. The problem that we will accomplish will be defined in the next section.
1.5.1 Problem Definition
A programmer usually get the job based on a problem. Before a program can terdesain well to finish some JENI Introduction to Programming
problems, problems - problems that occur must be known and well defined to obtain details of input and output requirements.
A clear pendefinisan is part of the solution. Computer programming requires to define the program first before making a settlement of the problem.
Let us define an example problem:
"Create a program that will display how many times a name appears on a list"
